Creative Allusions is a whole Arts company whose focus is arts education and educating through the arts. In that vein we produce theatrical shows and other works of art whose subject is primarily an event or person in history. We are also dedicated to examining all of the arts and artists on whose shoulders we stand.

Peter Maier - Ringleader
Peter has worked in arts education and administration since 1995. He has directed for the Missoula Children’s Theatre, Studio Arena Theatre and The Lancaster Opera House. His favorite onstage roles include Tony in WEST SIDE STORY, Billy Crocker in ANYTHING GOES, and Jacob Marley in Alleyway Theatre’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL. While serving as the vice president of the Four Seasons Players he received a TANYS award for his work on the show Impromptu. Peter kicked off the Arts in Action series of workshops and classes which was instrumental in earning the Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Education for The Lancaster Opera House in 2004. Peter is a NYS certified theatre teacher who has toured internationally teaching the craft of acting. Peter is a proud member of the Educational Theatre Association, the Theatre Communications Group, and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.

Amie Caster
Amie has been working with children in art and special needs since 2005. She is currently a special education teacher at Pinnacle Charter School. She believes that art helps children understand other subjects much more clearly—from math and science, to language arts and geography. Participating in art activities also helps children gain the tools necessary for understanding human experience, adapting to and respecting others' ways of working and thinking, developing creative problem-solving skills, and communicating thoughts and ideas in a variety of ways.
Karen Camp
Karen is the Artistic Director and instructor of The Dance Camp, near Buffalo’s historic Allentown district. Since 1995, she’s produced an annual show for her dance school with students who range in ages three to adult. Karen holds memberships with the National Dance Education Organization and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. She’s looking forward to completing her Bachelor’s Degree in the Arts with studies in Dance and Education at Empire State College.
Lyndsey D'Arcangelo
Lyndsey is a versatile writer, having experience as a journalist, copywriter, author, freelancer and blogger. She is the author of the Golden Crown Literary Society Award-winning book, The Trouble with Emily Dickinson (also a Lambda Literary Award finalist). Her most recent novel, The Crabapple Tree, was published in May 2009. In addition to writing short stories and young adult novels, Lyndsey also contributes regularly to a variety of national and local publications including Curve Magazine and The Buffalo News. She also offers numerous freelance writing services through D'arc•Light Creative.
Jessica Field
Jessica has been dancing for 20 years in various styles including tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, pointe, cheerdance, acro and modern/ contemporary. She competed in these styles for 15 years and won top placement along with many special awards. She performed as a backup dancer for a hip-hop group produced by the Goo Goo dolls. Jessica has also danced in a movie called the Dissection of Thanksgiving and appeared on the CW as a dancer for a holiday special. She has been in numerous musicals and productions as a dancer. She has been teaching for 6 years all ages and all around buffalo. She is currently teaching at Lorraine Goddard Dance Studio where she, herself, grew up dancing.
Marc-Jon Filippone
Marc-Jon Filippone has been a professional actor/singer/director since age eighteen and has appeared on every major stage in Western New York. In 2002, he began teaching acting and theatre technique and was a founding member of Music and Theatre Arts [M.A.T.A.], a successful summer arts program that served the Buffalo Southtowns for many years. Interested in performing since the age of nine, Marc-Jon’s parents supported his passion and enrolled him in one of the first classes at the original Studio Arena Theatre School, located at Lafayette and Hoyt Streets on Buffalo’s West Side. This early theatrical education fueled his interest in performing, providing the self-confidence and technique that has resulted in a long and fulfilling involvement in theatre. Marc-Jon was earned an Arty award as best producer of a children’s original musical in 2002.
Dale Fischer
Dale has been a member of the ComedySportz troupe since 2007, and is the chief instructor for the ComedySportz Training Center. Dale is also the founder of IMF, the area's premier long form improvisational troupe.
Zach Haumesser
Zach is a local puppeteer from WNY and has been performing puppets over 10 years. He has performed in various theaters, schools and parties. Zach works in the special education field for Erie1Boces and the Park School Summer Camp of Buffalo.
Chrissy McDonald
Chrissy McDonald is an accomplished actress and theatre educator. After receiving her B.A. in theatre from Niagara University, Chrissy moved to Los Angeles where she continued studying acting at the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum and the West Coast Ensemble. Chrissy has toured professionally as an actress/educator with the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse and the Virginia Stage Company. Locally, she has performed on stage with the Theatre of Youth, Alleyway Theatre, Pandora’s Box Theatre Company, and Shakespeare in Delaware Park. Chrissy is a New York State certified theatre instructor.
Adam Michael
Adam specializes in providing unique magical entertainment. He is a professional magician, and performs regularly at private and corporate events. Adam performs a unique blend of magic that is flexible and engaging. He is also an Art Education major who will be teaching classes for CAP in the near future.
Don Schwagler
Don currently works as a Middle School Science teacher at a Buffalo charter school. He has been playing drums –all types including set – for over twenty five years. He taught music at his current school but eventually ended up in Science. He has played drum set and hand drums in a variety of bands ranging from Brockport State gospel choir, jazz trios, rock bands and Christian church bands. He is always looking for projects and bands to get involved with.
